This was also the first time that making a computer generated movie. They tried to imagine the world from the ants perspective. History of Animation - Storyboarding

Image
What is storyboarding? Storyboarding is when, for a video production, the animator(s) create a comic form showing the most crucial shots in a project. It allows the viewers to see a visual layout and sequence of the animation; essentially, it gives the viewers a sense of what the final product will be like while still remaining as a rough draft capable of being edited. Who uses storyboarding? Animation directors must often use storyboards in the film industry. Some live-action directors such as Joel and Ethan Coen (also known as the Coen brothers) and Martin Scorsese use storyboards in order to pitch their latest project to investors. I think that one of the most important moments in the history of animation is when Disney made the classic movie "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" reason why I think it is important is because this is the world first full length animated movies and it is also a in color a feat that surprised and shocked many people during that time.It was important because it was release during the middle of the great depression when many American at that time is working long hours and have little to no time to relax until Sunday. Then when Sunday rolls around and since movies are cheap to watch back then, "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" was quickly loved by many and a enjoyable time for people back then to forget their worries for 83 minutes. Due to the success of the film 2D animation took off and Disney as a Company is starting to make many more 2D full length animated movies and other company soon follows in it foot steps.

Techniques of Traditional Animation

Techniques Of Traditional Animation    In very early cartoons made before the use of the cel, such as  Gertie the Dinosaur   (1914), the entire frame, including the background and all characters and items, were drawn on a single sheet of paper, then photographed. Everything had to be redrawn for each frame containing movements.   Thus, the  cel  was an important innovation to traditional animation, as it allows some parts of each frame to be repeated from frame to frame, thus saving labor.  If one character in a scene was not moving, while another character was. You could reuse the static character image for another scene and simply change the background. Another technique called Shooting On Twos is when one drawing is shown for every two frames of film.  So a traditional animation usually runs at 24 frames per second meaning that you would only need 12 drawings per second instead of 24.  This satisfies most objects and move...
